Dashboard Overview
The Synplex dashboard provides a high-level view of your inventory health and key performance metrics, helping you spot issues and make quick decisions.
Inventory Status
Your inventory is organised into five status categories:
| Status | Meaning | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Healthy | Balanced inventory levels | Monitor normally |
| Running Low | Approaching reorder threshold | Plan to reorder soon |
| Out of Stock | No available inventory | Urgent reorder needed |
| Overstocked | Excess inventory | Review demand forecast |
| Stock Gap | Temporary unavailability due to supply delays | Monitor incoming stock |
Key Financial Metrics
Track the capital invested in your inventory:
- Total Cost Value — Total capital invested in your current inventory
- Total Retail Value — Total market value of your products
- Cost Value in No Sales — Capital tied up in non-selling products
- Cost Value in Overstocked — Capital tied up in excess inventory
Use these metrics to understand where your money is tied up and optimise your inventory investment.
Last Synced Status
The dashboard shows when your inventory data was last synced with Shopify. You can see this in the top-right corner of the page.
Synplex keeps your data current automatically: real-time webhooks capture stock changes within seconds, and a daily reconciliation runs overnight to verify accuracy and recompute product metrics. Use manual sync for immediate updates when you need the latest information for time-sensitive decisions.
How to Use the Dashboard Daily
Morning Check (5 minutes)
- Review Running Low and Out of Stock counts
- Check if any Grade A products need urgent reorder
- Note any significant changes from yesterday
Weekly Review (15 minutes)
- Review financial metrics trends
- Check cost value tied up in non-selling products
- Assess overstocked inventory
- Plan optimisation actions
Monthly Assessment (30 minutes)
- Review overall inventory health trends
- Analyse which products are consistently problematic
- Update forecasts if demand patterns have changed
- Adjust safety stock settings if needed
